Character Study: Jonathan
“Holy Friends”
1 Samuel 18: 1 – 4, 19: 1 – 7, 20: 1 - 42
Ever slump down on your bed discouraged and lonely? Think of those hard days when a friend forgot to give you a ride home or when a friend forgot to call you on your birthday. Sometimes we ask ourselves, “Who are my friends? Why am I so lonely?”
What is the biblical answer to loneliness? Obviously, it’s friendship. However, according to the Bible there is more to friendship than knowing someone, going to school together, working in the same office, or even living in the same house. Let’s look at today’s passage and see what the Bible says about friendship.
