DAILY DEVOTIONS

Wednesday 09/07/05 - Psalm 4

Morning prayer has started. GCC has a prayer meeting that you can go to. Check it out on the web page. If you cannot make it to one of the prayer meetings because of distance do what we did here at Wallingford. We start a prayer meeting on Tuesday at my house. I will not stop you from starting one near the place you live at. We had a great time of prayer with some of the married couples living near my home. I am calling it the Wallingford Site Morning Prayer on Tuesday at 6:15am. Come join us if you are around my house.

The Psalmist states,

1 Answer me when I call to you,
O my righteous God.
Give me relief from my distress;
be merciful to me and hear my prayer.

I have echoed this prayer many times over. That is what I like about the Psalm because there is a Psalm that seems to express in word what I feel.

This morning I was pouring out my heart to God for many people and saying Lord show favor and bring open doors into their lives. If you have some prayer request please email them to me I will try to pray for you.

3 Know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself;
the LORD will hear when I call to him.

Lastly, we need to meditate on v. 4. I think this is a great verse to memorize especially for me. I can easily get frustrated because things are not working out like I want it to. Or it is not working out at the pace I want it to. But I need to keep silent and surrender all things to Christ. So meditate on this verse I think it will bring great benefit into your life.

4 In your anger do not sin;
when you are on your beds,
search your hearts and be silent.
Selah
