09/13/05 - Psalm
10
This
Psalm is filled with honest questions. This is what
I like about the book of Psalm. Real struggles with
real emotions expressed. Here the Psalmist wonders
why the godless and the proud men are prospering.
Have you ever felt like this?
1
Why, O LORD, do you stand far off?
Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
This
is a real struggle that many go through as they
see people living in sin and still success comes
their way. There are men who raise their fist against
God and nothing seems to happen to them. People
mock God and they are not judged. “What is
going on?” we ask. There is nothing wrong
with us being honest with our questions. But as
we struggle we must go back to the Biblical truth
and know that God will answer.
He
will not leave this injustice to continue forever.
The godless may laugh for a while but the godly
will find true joy in the end. Wait on the Lord
and trust in God’s word. This world is not
our home. We are in a battle zone. Always remember
God does hear and He will fight for us.
17
You hear, O LORD, the desire of the afflicted;
you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,
18
defending the fatherless and the oppressed,
in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify
no more.
