Tuesday
09/20/05 - Psalm
17
A
prayer of David.
6
I call on you, O God, for you will answer me;
give ear to me and hear my prayer.
7
Show the wonder of your great love,
you who save by your right hand
those who take refuge in you from their foes.
8
Keep me as the apple of your eye;
hide me in the shadow of your wings
You are the apple of God’s eye. He desires
to hide you in the shadow of his wings. These two
pictures are very powerful. It really states that
God will not abandon us in our times of trouble.
He will be there. He is near. He will show His love
to you. Lord, “Show the wonder of your great
love.”
What
does being the apple of God’s eye mean to
you? Definitely it means that we are precious in
the heart of God. So what those that mean to you?
Especially when you are struggling in life, how
can knowing this identity help you?
It
helps me tremendously. It tells me that I am not
lost in life but that God watches over me. There
are many complexities of life but God’s eye
is on me. Remember God neither sleeps nor slumbers.
His eyes are on us.
